5 Tips to Start 2018 Right

We’re a week into the new year and all I keep seeing is people saying new year - new me. Obviously it’s part of the big marketing strategy for January but it’s not just that. I think there’s a change in the air and people are starting to put themselves first.

2017 seems to have been a challenging year for people in more ways than one.  Well at least for me it was. My body was screaming out and I choose to ignore the signs. I’m stubborn like that. 

Only over the Christmas break did I finally stop. That’s when it hit me. I need to makes some changes in 2018. I’m going to listen to my body and do what’s best for me. I need to take care of myself. 

That needs to start from the get go. It’s something we all need to do but often forget. I’ve put together “5 Tips to Start 2018 Right.” To start the year on the right foot I’m going to:

  1. Reflect- It’s always good to look back and reflect. Write a list of what made you happy in 2017 and make those things your focus. It’s often the little things that make us happy.
  2. Declutter - A tidy house is a tidy mind afterall. Sort through your things make a pile for keeping, throwing away and donating. It’s helps you to be more organised and you’re also giving something back.
  3. Set goals - I’m not talking about resolutions but small achievable things you want from 2018. Read my welcome 2018 post to see mine.
  4. Make plans - It’s always good to have something to look forward to.
  5. Meditate - It might not be everyone’s cup of tea but meditating has helped me to clear my mind and stay calm and focused.

So get your year off to the right start by following my 5 tips to start 2018 right. You never know it could be just what you’re looking for.
